This position is part of the Operations Integration Directorate.
You will be responsible for coordinating overall Directorate support to various Joint Training Plan (JTP) approved exercises, to include supporting the development of annual JTPs, Training Objectives and serving as an observer/trusted agent.
Duties
As a TRAINING AND EXERCISE COORDINATOR at the GS-0301-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Provides direct interaction with all Agency Joint Training Program (JTP) exercise coordination and appropriate guidance as it relates to the modification of JMETs by the Agency Director, Deputy Director and other staff Directorates through interpretation of strategic planning guidance. Coordinates with Joint, Interagency, and international communities on CWMD.
Supports the management of DTRA JTP/Readiness reporting functions.
Exercises management and mentorship responsibility with a team of civilian and military personnel, and facilitates the performance of tasks by team members when assigned.
Supports the provision of technical administrative and personnel management activities to accomplish the Agency's mission in relevant program areas.
Plans, recommends, reviews and guides work across the joint training spectrum based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and staff capabilities.
Provides technical oversight and instructs employees on work and administrative matters as appropriate.
Assists in the execution of Agency capabilities ISO Joint Training Plan Tab F Table 1, 2 & 3 exercises in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, takes appropriate actions to facilitate access to all four phases of the JTS.
Assists the SI Directorate, Exercise Department by participating in recurring exercise-related working groups, capturing events and collecting participation data.
Incorporates goals and work assignments as provided by the DDIR to accomplish the mission and oversees successful completion of tasks.

Creates an environment that promotes engagement, collaboration, integration, and the responsible sharing of information and knowledge.
Leads change and makes insightful recommendations to the Operations Department Director; develops new insights into situations; questions conventional approaches; encourages new ideas and innovations; designs and implements new or cutting-edge programs, processes, and solutions within the CJCSI 3500.02.
Ability to synchronize and collaborate cross Directorates gaining a unity of effort of all Agency capabilities.
Ability to synchronize and enable DoD, the USG, and international partners to counter and deter weapons of mass destruction and emerging threats through effective development, coordination, and execution of exercises.
Training Philosophy and Principles. "Train the way we fight" mindset to support CCMDs and Joint Force commanders in execution of the CWMD mission across the full range of military operations in an increasingly complex threat environment utilizing centralized planning and de-centralized execution.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience with JMETs and supporting tasks to the Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL), ensuring synchronization among JMET standards, functions, and associated measures.
Experience with the four-phased methodology for aligning joint training programs with assigned missions, consistent with command priorities and available resources to produce trained and ready individuals, staffs, and units.
Experience with Phase III which consists of Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), its components and collaborative tools.
Experience with CCMD OPLAN/CONPLAN and associated campaign strategies to prevent, detect and deter use of WMD.
Experience with the functions, roles and responsibilities of a Training Officer for receiving, analyzing, and disseminating guidance amongst an Exercise Control Group for each event.
Experience with the daily management of personnel who serve as an organizational Training Officer.

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience assisting with U.S. government Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) policies and doctrine.
Experience assisting with the Joint Staff Training System (JTS), Crisis Operations and exercise coordination and planning, Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) measures, activities, functions and authorities.
Experience assisting with communications platforms that support CCMD exercise requirements, observations of the effectiveness of the communications systems as it relates to transparency during the exercise with agency partners.
Experience assisting with the functions, roles and responsibilities of a Directorate level Training Officer for receiving and disseminating emergency information.
Experience assisting management with personnel who serve as Department level Training Officers at the tactical and operational level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
