You will serve as a PROGRAM MANGER in the Aviation/Ship Integration (A/SI) Team of NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND HQ-PMO.

Duties

You will coordinate aviation issues for PEO (Carriers) programs. You will coordinate response to validate and emergent aviation system requirements. You will coordinate necessary NAVAIR participation in vital aircraft carrier international programs in accordance with approved International Exchange Agreements (IEAs). You will provide oversight of Naval Aviation modernization and technology roadmaps for implementation of aviation systems improvements for all carriers. You will exercise full range of leadership duties for NAVAIR and NAVSEA personnel in the Carrier aviation integration team. You will ensure the Carrier Air Wing (CVW) is interoperable with the Fleet of Aircraft Carrier now and through 2032 as outline in the Master Aviation Plan (MAP).

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-3 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience working within NAVAIR, NAVSEA, Naval Shipyards, and teams comprising GOV, Contractor, industry, and cross SYSCOMs; 2) Understanding of the DON structure and the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) stakeholders; 3) Coordinating with Aviation Program Managers to ensure aviation solutions are assessed for alternatives and compliance with mission need statements; 4) Coordinating aviation issues for PEO (Carriers) programs Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
