Provides development, management, and instruction for the Global College of Professional Military Education's (GCPME) non-resident Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College and Air War College programs. Develops curriculum for 98 online courses and curriculum development, management, and teaching across disciplines within GCPME. Pursues active research, publication, and service to GCPME, Air University, and the Air Force as directed by the dean, commandant, and Air University.

Duties

Develop curriculum for and teach online courses. Produces curriculum under JPME, Departmental, and AU guidance for core and elective courses including curriculum content, instructional methods/materials, and learning assessments. Provides detailed feedback to students and documentation of student progress. Serves as subject matter expert and advisor to PME colleges and AU on subjects of relevance to academic background and teaching area, to include teaching as the GCPME mission allows. As a leader, specialist, and consultant, makes recommendations on educational methods, program content, course organization, lesson development, lecture subjects, lecturers, integration of state-of-the-art technology applications, and other areas of curriculum development. Guides, stimulates discussion, and evaluates participation and contribution of students. Engages in professional scholarship and writing in areas of expertise. Research may include pursuit of publication of research in professional journals, scholarly publications, or other commercial and government publications; or development/publication of educational material for GCPME programs; or other research-of-practice endeavors. Plans and conducts research as necessary to support resident and non-resident curriculum. Develops and documents course materials, constructs case studies as appropriate, and identifies areas requiring additional research. Preparation of textbooks, case studies, monographs, electronic-based educational tools, and histories of general intellectual merit are considered as part of publications record. Supervises and advises student research in course work, research projects and professional papers. Performs administrative support functions and special projects, as directed, to include service on internal or external committees, providing advice and counsel as appropriate. Provides advice and counsel to Course Directors, Department Directors, and Deans on topics related to area(s) of expertise. Organizes and conducts faculty development activities related to research activities, curriculum development initiatives, new techniques, and technology application in the curriculum. Qualifications

The incumbent will be required to teach within a college or school curriculum to support the mission. GCPME programs are interdisciplinary curricula that require a unique synergy of academic and operational expertise for a focus at the appropriate season of military education. Because of this, incumbent may be required to teach across disciplines within the college. Broad knowledge and wide range of experience in leadership, organizational principles, and interpersonal/group problem solving skills applicable to the military environment. Broad knowledge and wide range of experience in values, ethics, and morality of war. Broad knowledge of the global environment, international political structures, and strategy. Broad knowledge of military thought and theory; military history; and the organization, capabilities, and limitations of armed forces. Knowledge of research methods and ability to conduct research in area of expertise. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, especially as this applies in the online learning environment. Knowledge of educational technology and instructional techniques, especially those appropriate in an online learning environment. Knowledge of evaluation methods and procedure, especially as this applies in the online learning environment. Skill in designing, developing, and evaluating courses and course materials, especially as this applies in the online learning environment. Experience at a senior level position within the DoD or other government agencies is highly desired. Education

A master's degree is required. It is highly desired that the master's degree be related to areas such as leadership, ethics, communication, organizational management, or communications.
