Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Kirtland Air Force Base is searching for a Developmental Integration Systems Engineer (GS-7 target 12).

Come join our team here in sunny Kirtland AFB, NM at Space Systems Command. We are located in the city of Albuquerque, gateway to the southwest. Space Systems Command is the birthplace of U.S. Space Force's ballistic missile and military space program and is the center of acquisition excellence for acquiring and developing military space systems.
Our portfolio includes the Global Positioning System, military satellite communications, defense meteorological satellites, space launch and range systems, satellite control networks, space based infrared systems and space situational awareness capabilities. The primary purpose of this position is to provide entry level systems engineering or program management to the Space Test Program (STP) at Kirtland AFB, NM. STP is the US Space Force premier organization to assist DoD Science and Technology experiments to get to space. With STP, you solve a full range of problems arising in the fields of systems engineering, program management, finance, contracting and acquisition. We work with the nation's top launch vehicle providers such as United Launch Alliance, SpaceX, and others to ensure the nation's top experiments arrive safely on orbit to test out next-generation warfighting capabilities. We also work with a variety of satellite manufacturers to integrate experiments for various orbital regimes to include Low Earth and Geosynchronous orbit.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of general engineering policies, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments.
2. Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factor, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives.
3. Skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform moderately difficult assignments.
4. Ability to analyze, interpret and apply general engineering rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend effective solutions to senior engineers.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, as well as work in an appropriate manner with peer and management.
6. Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications. Ability to learn and apply analytical investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field.

- This position is eligible for situational telework. Must live in commuting distance to the office.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor?s level from an ABET accredited institution is required.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- Work requires the appropriate APDP certification(s); i.e., Level 2 or 3 in an area such as Test and Evaluation (T and E); Systems Planning, Research, Development, and
- Engineering-Systems Engineering (SPRDE-SE); or Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering-Program Systems Engineer (SPRDE-PSE)
