About the Position: This position serves as the Administrative Support assistant to the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) as well as the secretary to the Director of DPTMS and the Supervisory Plans and Operations Chief. This position is located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Fort Bragg is co-located with Fayetteville, North Carolina a culturally diverse city.

Duties

Review all correspondence from division chiefs. Prepare documents from rough drafts, exercising full responsibility for finished product. Receives telephone calls and visitors and determines those that can be handled without supervisor's help. Ensure the Director is briefed on the subject matter of meetings. Receives and reads incoming correspondence and reports to determine who the information is forwarded to. Prepare travel vouchers and after action reports related to official travel.

Requirements

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: preforming clerical and administrative duties utilizing various software programs; advising on policy and procedural statements that affect current command directives; evaluating current procedures of the division for administrative effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
