About the Position: This position is located at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center, at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Duties
Make inquiries into patient complaints in order to initiate action or changes necessary to correct problem situations.
Analyze each situation and develop solutions and explanations to ensure that needs of patients and family members are clearly understood.
Clarify and explain Medical Center (MEDCEN) policies/procedures.
Assist on TRICARE issues through facilitation, direction to resources or introduction to benefits counselor.
Report findings to include recommendations for improvement.
Identify trends and causative factors pertinent to patient satisfaction.
Attend meetings concerning patient care and issues of quality improvement.
Collect and enter data/information into automated computer systems for the purpose of creating and maintaining appropriate databases for analysis and ongoing documentation of patient satisfaction, assistance, and complaints.
Ensure the format, spacing, arrangement, and preparation of typed material is in correct final form.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting patient interviews to obtain feedback regarding medical services received; verifying patient information in an automated healthcare system; and reviewing correspondence and/or reports for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
