The Instructional Designer position is located in the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Finance and Procurement Office (FPO), Finance Management Training Staff (FMTS). The FMTS is responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining financial management training products; and providing support and services for financial management educational programming.
Duties
This position will report to the Chief of the Financial Management Training Staff (FMTS) in the Finance and Procurement Office (FPO). The FMTS is seeking a professional Instructional Designer to join its team. The primary function for FMTS is to provide a comprehensive program of high-quality, business process eLearning courses and performance support resources to new and experienced unit executives and financial management professionals in the Judiciary.
The incumbent will be a key member of the FMTS and will work with FPO leaders and staff, court leaders and staff, and training partners to accomplish the Office's strategic goal of providing a comprehensive program of high-quality eLearning courses and resources to new unit executives and financial management professionals in the Judiciary. The ideal candidate must have strong written communication skills and experience writing curriculum for business process eLearning courses.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Executing the full range of instructional design activities from planning through development and production to implementation of eLearning courses and performance support materials based on educational needs assessment findings.
Conducting assessments to identify program and position related educational needs to recommend revision of existing courses and development of new courses.
Planning, developing, and implementing evaluation methodologies to determine the effectiveness of eLearning programs and performance support resources.
Applying instructional design theory and science to create eLearning courses that meet the needs of the intended audience.
Writing and creating content for storyboards, scripts, business communications, and learning activities that support business process requirements.
Working independently to execute responsibilities and assignments under FMTS managerial review for priorities, budget limitations, and for consistency with broad FMTS educational goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience conducting assessments to identify educational needs for business process eLearning courses; and planning, developing, and implementing eLearning courses.
