This position is located in the United States Mint, Office of the Director, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Information Technology Directorate (ITD), Application Development Division (ADD), as assigned; and reports to the Enterprise Systems Branch Chief of the ADD. The ADD provides state-of-the-art application development, information management, quality, repeatable work products, and operational support services that complement the United States Mint's business processes.

Duties

As an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (Application Software and Internet) (SENIOR SPECIALIST), you will: Plan, lead, and coordinate studies relating to IT mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps to include testing, adjusting and or improving existing IT mobile and web applications for the United States Mint. Assist the Branch Chief in short and long-range operational and planning functions, and furnish technical assistance to the United States Mint, ITD, or other study groups engaged in fact finding studies. Review legislation and regulatory and procedural changes pertaining to IT mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps. Coordinate with Security Operations and Security Compliance to ensure applications are developed in a secure manner which meets federally mandated controls. In addition, the incumbent will work with the security and infrastructure teams to obtain the Authority to Operate of the new system and participate in the re-authorization of the system as necessary. Develop system policies that establish parameters and guidelines for the agency-wide application of mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps technologies; and promoting application of these technologies throughout the agency as a means to more effectively accomplish critical business requirements.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Project experience for a business system with a wide variety of technologies; OR - Experience providing IT services, integrating application software; OR - Participating in technological planning, product evaluation, and report development AND In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
