This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the Deputy Director of Budget Appropriations & Congressional Affairs (DOX) and reporting to the Director of Budget Appropriations & Congressional Affairs (DOX).
Duties

As a Supervisory Congressional Support Officer at the NH-0301-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:
This position serves as the Deputy Director of Budget Appropriations & Congressional Affairs (DOX) and reports to the Director of Budget Appropriations & Congressional Affairs (DOX). Supports the Director of Budget Appropriations & Congressional Affairs with independent research, insight, and assessments; manages and coordinates Agency briefings for Congressional Members and Staff and Congressional Support Agencies such as GAO, CBO and CRS; and manages and coordinates external audits to include oversight and analysis of audits and audit results.
Plans, develops, coordinates, and executes the MDA congressional strategy to support the annual President's budget submission and MDA Program of Record through the congressional authorization and appropriations process. Prepares the MDA Senior & Executive Officials for Congressional hearings, Congressional engagements, and provides support to senior Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) officials for hearings on matters related to missile defense. Coordinates congressional activities with Office of Secretary of Defense Legislative Affairs and other Defense Department directorates and agencies, the Military Departments, and the Combatant Commands on legislative aspects of missile defense activities.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Supervises daily operations of activities within the Directorate; to include preparing congressional engagement read ahead packages, and facilitating the coordination of briefings and other materials intended for Congress.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Understand the processes, procedures and internal workings of how bills are introduced, the flowing through the committees and the chamber floors, and the manner in which they can be amended or terminated; and the role and function of congressional support agencies and external audit processes.
Familiar with policy and doctrine aspects of complex weapons programs, as well as the national security policy-making environment.
Coordinate congressional affairs activities within the Department of Defense.
Review and provide congressional feedback on missile defense programs and make legislative and programmatic recommendations on missions and operations that could significantly impact the organization mission.
