About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arctic Warrior Events Center on JBER, AK.
This is a Regular Full-Time position with a continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. As a Regular employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave and sign up for benefits to include Health/Dental, Life Insurance, 401(k) and NAF Retirement.
Duties
Responsible for the efficient operation of the Arctic Warrior Event Center (AWEC) and Talkeetna & Frontier theater's Audio-Visual (A/V0 and Information Technology (IT) Specialist assigned to the 773 FSW with responsibility for scheduling coordination, and operation of all AWEC troubleshooting and repair of IT systems in AWEC and base theaters in support of all event center activities.
This position will be serving as the organizations first line of help to resolve IT and electronic systems related issues at the Arctic Warrior Event Center and two theaters. Along with the customer service related to the events held that require IT Support. This individual with work directly with AWEC facilitates programs to include ceremonies, conferences, briefings, official, social functions, and high-level foreign and domestic distinguished visitors to all JBER users. This individual reports to the Community Services Flight Chief (GS-13) and Deputy Flight Chief (NF-IV) in the establishing, monitoring, and servicing of the visual information policy and management controls based on Air Force guidance. Assists in planning short-term and long-term loss of system hardware and software; monitor system efficiency; perform routine system and database maintenance and troubleshot system failures; perform routing system, database, and user data backups. Establishes and monitors clearly defined visual information policy and management controls based on Air Force guidance. May be required to create, edit, and maintain end-user instructions and manuals. Proactively interacts with users to ensure proper operation of computer systems, hardware, and software. Research and evaluate and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements. Will assist with tracking and maintaining of the IT asset inventory by preparing required documents and following established procedures to ensure the accuracy of the inventory. May be required to coordinate with Air Force Service Agency, other base agencies, and contractors to ensure compliance standards are being met. Schedules video teleconferences and the reservation of the video teleconferencing center (VTC). Determines equipment and video teleconference facility set up requirements based on customer needs, system capabilities in the television production in audio visual presentation techniques. Receives presentation, briefing, and video teleconference requirements from using directorates and make reservations for support. Validates time availability, ushers, sufficient lead time to establish connectivity between VTC sites, prepares for the contents of the VTC briefing, or multimedia equipment for presentations. Provides expertise in all related fields of presentations and video teleconferencing, overseeing, and coordinating the technical aspects of multimedia in VTC operations. Assists the AWEC Director, who is responsible for managing 773 FSS/FSW AWEC, which includes an auditorium, a prep kitchen, executive rooms, meeting rooms, general offices, distinguished visitor lounge, bars, and break areas. Assists in developing plans for the use of the event center, including budget, scheduling, staffing etc. Arranges for facility maintenance and cleaning as necessary. Responsible for building security. Oversees contractor performance of equipment and maintenance. Assisting in maintaining a master schedule for the use of the center. Coordinates use of meeting and conference rooms with customers. Resolves scheduling conflict and rearranges schedule to accommodate priority use by higher-level commanders. May be assigned the duties of Cybersecurity Liaison (CSL), Equipment Custodian (EC), and/or Records Custodian (RC). Will keep work areas clean and organized. Ensures timely and accurate execution of audio, video, and graphic products during briefings. Will be driving between different facilities located on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to perform duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug test. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain a CompTIA Security+ or other appropriate IA certification.

Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge of customer support principles, IT security policies, methods and procedures for documenting resolutions, and trouble shootings. Experience video teleconferencing (VTC) and audio/video (A/V) capabilities. Knowledge of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance. Knowledge of office automation software. Experience managing event timelines and special events. Coordinate and communicate with mission partners at all levels and grades. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of IT design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining systems that support functional requirements as may be gained by earning an associate degree, equivalent training, or experience. Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing. Must have 2 years of relevant, full-time work experience. Every 2 years of IT related education may be substituted for 1 year of work experience.
Must be able to work various hours, as needed, including weekends and holidays. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical. Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid driver's license. Position designated as testing designated position and incumbent is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 3 Level) is required. Successful completion of an Access National Agency Check with Inquiries (ANACI) is required. Must have Comp TIA Security+ or other appropriate IA certification. Must obtain and maintain DoD 8570-M requirements within 6 months of hire.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
