This position is located in the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Office of the Chief Administrative Services Officer (OCASO), Logistics and Security Management (LSM), Physical Security Branch (PHYSEC).The Security Specialist Administrator is responsible for all aspects of mission related strategies, plans, policies, procedures, associated contracts, and technical requirements. This includes functioning as the Insider Threat (InT) Program Manager and Information Security Manager.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Physical Security Specialist at the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks:
Evaluating operational activities, managing varying program areas, assessing productivity and identifying improvement in program effectiveness and opportunities in areas such as Insider Threats. Information Security, Operations Security, Security Education and Training, and Intelligence Support.
Experience analyzing and evaluating program risks and produce program reports for presentation to senior leadership.
Experience developing program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement.
Experience managing all aspects of mission related strategies, plans, policies, procedures, associated contracts, and technical requirements for all areas of assigned responsibility for the Administrative Security Operation of a physical security program.
Experience serving as the Insider Threat Program Manager and Information Security Manager; and overseeing Operations Security; Security Education and Training; and Intelligence Support.
Experience advising on new developments and advances in all program areas, planning, organizing, and directing research to develop long range studies and forecasts; evaluating and making recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for program and policy assessments of the physical security programs noted.
Experience formulating strategies to support future operations, emergency response and contingency planning.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
