You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist in the FRCSW MRO Logistics, FRCSW Industrial Supply, and FRCSW Inventory Managment Specialist Divisions of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will inventory each Program/Platform assets and materials to meet both the internal and external audit requirements. You will monitor, document, and report progress or barriers to the MRO-L Supply Material Management Branch Head. You will complete and assist with a 100% Book-to-Floor and Floor-to-Book Wall-to-Wall annual inventory of accountable assets and aircraft fixed and vertical. You will perform Causative Research/ in-depth investigations of specific physical inventory discrepancies/adjustments to determine why they occurred and the corrective action to prevent future discrepancies. You will research problems and control a wide range of inventory of repairable and consumable assemblies/components, plant equipment, support equipment, and IMRL assets. You will coordinate a variety of actions and develop plans of action and milestones to effectively monitor and assure effective supply/program support.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to: Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; planning and organizing work; and communicating effectively orally and in writing. Examples may include but not limited to: performing regular supply inventory in compliance with set regulations; retaining and organizing files related to supply management; and investigating and documenting the cause of inventory discrepancies. Successful completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
