You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION SE & ALRE GROUP SUPPORT EQUIPMENT DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will provide technical advice, counsel, and instruction on cyber security issues associated with support equipment. You will initiate, direct and participate in the full life cycle of cyber security appraisals and network penetration testing of geographically dispersed and operationally diverse agency facilities and support equipment. You will participate in the collection and analysis of technical and management data associated with the agency cyber security programs. You will maintain continued technical liaison with the appropriate staff elements throughout the agency. You will exchange information in connection with cyber security requirements; prepare various reports, briefings, summaries, and progress reports pertaining to this area. You will prepare and recommend new and/or evaluations, and penetration testing methodologies for cyber security appraisals.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Systems Security Analyst level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience. Develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services and capabilities. Monitor and evaluate systems compliance with IT security requirements to provide advice and guidance on implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems. Ensure coordination and/or collaboration on security activities sufficient to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines. Develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency. Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialist on critical IT issues. Apply new development to previously unsolvable problems and make decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important agency IT policies or programs. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
