You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist in the NAWCAD LKE of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will resolve interface issues and challenges during the design, test, and evaluation phases. You will implement information systems cyber security tools and procedures to protect and restore information security systems and network services. You will determine information technology (IT) resource requirements to accomplish short or long-term goals

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451: Systems Administrator proficiency level (Intermediate) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DoN policies

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: overseeing the organization of the laboratories as well as designing the lab setup itself. This includes the building of racks, running of network lines, ensuring that power is appropriate, laying out and connecting equipment. as well as ensuring information technology equipment (such as racks, computers, servers, switches cables, and other assets) is installed properly in the laboratory spaces. This is required to promote a safe professional working environment and to ensure the lab spaces are in a state that allows for visitors to tour and engage in training necessary to support mission requirements. determining the need for new or updated IT security guidance based on policy and technology changes 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: working with ALRE Information Systems software teams and external customers to coordinate lab and personnel availability to support testing and lab resource needs with external programs and coordinating with logistics to provide equipment and spares to support deployments of ALRE Information System programs. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Coordinating with other laboratories helping to support all missions by providing expert technical advice on lessons learned, providing documentation (such as SOPs, inventories, etc.). In addition, using information from other labs/lab manager for continuous improvements. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Scheduling maintenance activities and resolving problems, such as defective hardware components or corrupted software.
