About the Position: This position is responsible for ensuring proper management of range operations in accordance with safety and Army Regulation, policy and procedural guidance.

Duties

Implements range operation functions for safe and efficient utilization of the Fort Bliss Range Complex and Restricted Airspace. Oversees range operations in the use of high risk weapons, ammunition, aviation and other hazardous materials on multiple ranges, and training areas. During firings and gunneries, provides oversight on regulatory requirements pertaining to unit operations on the Range. Evaluates the seriousness of problems encountered in range safety matters and keeps the leadership informed of problems and unusual work situations. Monitors firing and range activities on ranges and training areas, considering proximity, compatibility of systems, or to suspend operations if the safety of personnel is questionable.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must obtain and maintain a T3 (SECRET) Security Clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license to perform the duties of this position.
• May be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
