Duties

The selectees will serve as an Administrative Operations Specialist in the Office of Investigations. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 level (starting base salary $40,082) if you possess one of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level performing duties such as: performing administrative, clerical, and office automation support functions; maintaining administrative files; preparing travel orders, or updating property inventory, or billing, and records management; recording data and communicating to key stakeholders; OR One full year of graduate level education; OR Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. You qualify for the GS-09 level (starting base salary $49,028) if you possess one of the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level performing duties such as: maintaining office calendar and meeting schedules; preparing agendas and maintaining meeting minutes/notes; reviewing reports and other information related to financial information and documents; analyzing and communicating data and findings to key stakeholders; OR Masters's equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current competitive service employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). You may need to submit more than one SF-50 to comply. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
