Duties
You will serve as an IT Specialist Application Software (APPSW) and be responsible as a subject matter expert on data engineering tools and techniques and as an advisor to the OD&A, USCG lines of business, operational commands and analytics teams on applying data engineering to address challenges within the USCG.

Qualifications
GS-13: Applicant must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience includes: Assisting in developing policies and procedures to ensure database systems reliability and accessibility while still preventing and defending against unauthorized access to data; Performing needs analysis to define opportunities for improved technology solutions; Troubleshooting and resolving problems with systems or applications; Maintaining, monitors, backup and recovers all production databases for program area; and Implementing database security procedures and conduct database security evaluations, audits, and review.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
IN ADDITON TO THE ABOVE,
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
