This position is located within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Technical Services (OTS), Safety and Security Division (SSD), in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This position serves as the Safety and Security Division Director responsible for the management and oversight of OST Safety, Security, Testing and Analysis, and Human Reliability Programs.

PECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-03 or GS-14. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1. Experience independently managing programs applying policy, practices, and principles to meet agency goals.
2. Experience independently applying nuclear safeguards and security policy, directives, and interpreting regulatory requirements and/or Federal Regulations to assure compliance of transportation and safeguarding of nuclear materials.
3. Experience assessing vulnerabilities and performance assurance related to program safety, security, and experience with transportation risk assessments related to nuclear weapons and special nuclear materials.
4. Experience developing long-rang program goals or program efforts to include identifying operational program needs and / or operating business management systems and procedures to meet regulatory compliance.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
