The Moral Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Marketing office is responsible for the Advertising, Sponsorship, Marketing and Graphic Design for Fort McCoy MWR. The Marketing office is a small team working in a fast-past environment. The candidate must be self-motivated, and goal orientated.

Duties

Determine marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation, and community awareness of all DFMWR programs. Conducts Media relations, commercial sponsorship and overall planning of special events. Conducts media relations with on-post media and off-post media. Serves as representative to community and briefs media on programs and activities and their impact on civilian community. Maintains oversight of all publicity, promotion, and public relations for DFMWR and activities. Conducts Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising to include keeping track of viable annual events for which to seek commercial sponsorship. Negotiates mutually beneficial sponsorship terms and executes all supporting documents. Coordinates with the installation Staff Judge Advocate to ensure that terms of sponsorship are in accordance with the DA, IMCOM and local regulation and policies. Attends events and serves as point of contact for sponsors at events. Compiles and provides sponsor with copies of subsequent publicity and develops appropriate documents and after-action reports. Serves as the primary planner and action officer for a variety of recurring and special events, and activities that take place at the installation. Participates in strategic planning initiatives and measures the success of special events. Identifies potential problems and resolves and or proposes possible modifications or solutions to event sponsor/proponent. Coordinates with outside activities as needed, and ensures modifications are incorporated into the plan. Provides input and coordinates with the team on publicity, promotion and public relations for DFMWR and activities. Position will include basic photography skills, and ability to use social media. other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license in order to travel for Sponsorship and events.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors occasionally working under inclement weather conditions.
  • Shift varies Mon-Fri between 0800 - 1650. Must be able to occasionally work irregular hours, evenings, holidays and/or weekends as mission requires. Regular day off (RDO) is not authorized for this position.

Qualifications

Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume Demonstrated related work experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Work experience must have been equivalent in complexity, difficulty and responsibility to the next lower pay band level Highly Preferred Criteria All answers to the Highly Preferred criteria must be visible in your resume to get credit. Degree in either Marketing & Advertising or Business Management Two years' experience directly related to the knowledge, skills, abilities and duties as described in the job announcement. Two years' experience compiling reports, performing analysis, presenting briefings, and communicating effective orally and in writing. Work experience with MWR or similar Sponsorship Sales experience Applicants meeting the qualifications for the Highly Preferred criteria maybe referred FIRST to the selecting officials.
