About the Position: Serve as the technical expert and authority on all Congressional activities to include authorization and appropriations interactions with Congress. Performs a full range of Congressional liaison work. Provides consultation, advice, and policy interpretation to the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Army Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-6 and appropriate CIO and G-6 Senior Leaders and staff on congressional aspects of policies, plans, and programs,

Duties

Provide the CIO and G-6 senior leaders and staff with analysis and advice on potential impacts, trends and measures to influence the outcome. Prepare assignments based on input from subject matter experts. Attend all Congressional engagements with the CIO and G-6. Maintain continuous surveillance of trends in all Army cyber, network, and IT budget areas. Respond to all inquiries from Congress on Army cyber, network, and IT efforts and forwards the CIO and G-6 positions on all legislation. Analyze a variety of legislative reference and information materials on a daily basis.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; utilizing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to identify and advise on highly sensitive political and congressional affairs; applying practices and techniques in order to develop new approaches to difficult and complex problems; providing technical and policy guidance on legislative authorization and appropriation matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingStrategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
