About the Position: Will work independently under the general supervision of the Operational Support Airlift-Activity Flight Detachment Commander with delegated authority to coordinate and formulate decisions on matters pertaining to flight operations, flight scheduling, mission coordination, budgetary, and property actions essential to the command operations.
Duties
Provide the full range of administrative and operational planning services for the Operational Support Airlift Flight Detachment Commander.
Develop and maintain the weekly flight schedule, coordinate mission support with requesting entities.
Ensure all cyclic and sensitive item inventories are conducted in accordance with applicable Army Policies.
Submit supply orders through Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A).
Conduct periodic review of activities for efficiency and effectiveness, develop and implement standard operating procedures for improvement or corrections as necessary.
Receive, inventory, and account for all Operational Support Airlift Flight Detachment equipment.
Develop procurement requirement packets for unit and mission specific equipment and services; generally, within the purchase threshold of Government Purchase Card.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in administrative processes; providing guidance on organizational policies and procedures; coordinating travel arrangements and/or travel orders (Defense Travel System experience preferred). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business administration, public administration, English degree, etc. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing flight schedules or operational plans; providing administrative processes; providing guidance on organizational policies and procedures; coordinating travel arrangements and/or travel orders (Defense Travel System experience preferred). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree a in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business administration, public administration, English degree, etc. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent as stated above. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
