This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Administrative Management and Operations Branch of of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of development and administration of Budget and Strategic Planning programs.  

Duties

Serve as the senior expert on matters related to strategic planning and resource management. Conducts strategic planning efforts both at the Corporate and Division levels and facilitates the establishment and/or update of the Division’s strategic plan; including establishment of the planning framework, reviewing mission and vision statements, and formulating broad goals for long or short-term accomplishment. Coordinates with management on the development of corporate performance objectives that provide meaningful and measurable goals and benchmarks in support of the FDIC’s mission. Develops clear means and strategies for accomplishing corporate objectives. Monitors the progress on goals and objectives and coordinates with FDIC Office and Division counterparts to develop and report progress as related to the corporate strategic plans. Develops routine and ad hoc reports from established systems or databases and highlights key information to provide status to management and/or inform program decisions and division policy. Conducts and/or leads studies in order to evaluate DCP program performance in comparison to strategic planning goals and milestones. Facilitates working groups in order to analyze process, determine methods of improvement, brief stakeholders and gaining buy-in for process or quality improvement measures, assist staff and management with developing evaluative measures and methods of monitoring progress, and assists with implementation as needed. Develops and maintains data for reporting to senior management on a variety of metrics for DCP programs; analyzes and presents findings and recommendations used by senior management in decision making. Develops and implements a management reporting system that will keep managers across each functional area of DCP informed about key trends and issues, requiring attention in areas of organizational planning and resource management, internal controls, external audit and evaluation and IT.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience as an advisor managing a divisional program involving policy development and implementation, strategic planning, program budgeting, staff evaluation and planning, management reporting and project tracking. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
