You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT in the Operations Department (Code 300), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will be responsible for the development and execution of non-nuclear schedules.
You will review all work packages to ensure early identification and ordering of material will support scheduled overhaul dates.
You will continuously review cost and progress reports to anticipate and/or initiate corrective action prior to exceeding cost limits or failing to meet production schedules.
You will conduct and attend a variety of meetings or critiques as necessary to review key reports and schedules; assesses the progress of the availability, and identify problems causing work delays or stoppages and initiates corrective action.
You will direct/supervise the work force through subordinate supervisors from various trades.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1. Experience with ship repair, project management fundamentals, planning, integrations, scheduling and execution strategies.
2. Experience with shipyard nuclear and non-nuclear work operations, radiation exposure control system requirements, trade and shop practices.
3. Experience with applying techniques of scientific management to include work flow, plant layout, time and engineered work standards, work simplification, safety, production
4. Experience with storage, delivery, inventory and material handling, cost control, direct labor, material and equipment costs, Shipyard operations overhead costs, budget control and personnel management
5. Experience with supporting facilities and equipment such as manufacturing, refurbishment, and installation of all Temporary Service Systems inclusive of Shore Power, Piping, Lockout/Tags Plus, Ventilation, CASCON and HASDAN systems, Freeze Protection, Project Temporary Service Manager (PTSM), Navy Competent Person (Gas Monitoring) and Industrial Process Instruction 9922-454.
