You will serve as a Security Assistant in the Mission Support Division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will be responsible for developing NRL personnel security and visitor access control policy and procedures.
You will determine the purpose/nature of visits and assure positive ID before allowing entry.
You will provide oversight and management for all personnel security actions.
You will establish and manage the NRL continuous evaluation of personnel assigned to sensitive duties.
You will prepare a variety of documents using office automation systems, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
You will review all incoming and outgoing correspondence for proper format, correct grammatical content, and ensure that established policy has been followed.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01/04) or pay band (NC-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: (1) Assisting and directing visitors; (2) Determining purpose of visit and assuring positive ID before allowing visitors entry; (3) Processing classified/unclassified meetings, temporary ID badge/VIP requests, and unclassified visits by foreign nationals; (4) Filing and updating databases and checking status of Personnel Security and Investigation actions; and (5) Reviewing and determining type of security investigation required.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
4 years above high school
Or
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
