You will serve as a Security Assistant in the Mission Support Division, code 124300 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY. Duties

You will process NRL and VIP badges. You will file and update databases. You will process contractor checkouts. You will conduct reviews of all personnel prior to granting NRL access. You will maintain accountability for classified materials.

Requirements

• This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-01/04 grade level or pay band (NC-01) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: (1) Assisting and directing visitors; (2) Determining purpose of visit and assuring positive ID before allowing visitors entry; (3) Processing classified/unclassified meetings, temporary ID badge/VIP requests, and unclassified visits by foreign nationals; (4) Filing and updating databases and checking status of Personnel Security and Investigation actions; and (5) Reviewing and determining type of security investigation required Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
