You will serve as a MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN in the Military Sealift Command (MSC), Medical Administration Office of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will responsible for receiving medial documentation, status updates, screening and reviewing records.
You will answer inquiries made by phone and via voicemail utilizing HRMS and master medical record.
You will protect medical information according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Requesting, collecting, and screening incoming medical records for proper compliance using HIPPA standards.
Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Utilizing computer systems such as Computer Health Care System, Health Records Management System, and PC Matrix for the input/retrieval of medical information.
Using healthcare principles and procedures and their applications in the health care setting to ensure medical legal documentation and records management meet all Privacy Act and HIPPA requirements.
