The incumbent works at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Salisbury, North Carolina in Health Administration Services (HAS). This position has responsibility for reporting and setting-up clinic profiles within the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) computer system.
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Sets-up clinic profiles for approximately 3100 clinics at the Salisbury VA Medical Center and the Charlotte, Winston Salem and Hickory COBC's.
Ensures appropriate clinic parameter (stop codes, provider codes, etc) are used and applicable to the description of the clinical services performed.
Maintain records of clinic set-up requests, modifications and deactivations as approved by service line chiefs and medical center Chief of Staff.
Notifies appropriate staff when requests, changes and cancellations are completed.
Communicates to the Chief Data Quality information related primarily to access and clinic profile management and appraised of events and decisions primarily to access and clinic profile management and appraised of events and decisions which could have a significant impact on successful operation of the clinic profiles and other Data Quality programs.
Performs validation of clinic set-up to include, but not limited to, billable status, count verses non-count, DSS identifiers and activation of encounter forms.
Cancels clinic as appropriate with required service and HAS approvals following all established procedures for clinic cancellation.
Overall responsibility for establishing and editing pre-appointment, no-show and cancellation letters for new and established clinics and ensures notifications to patient population are accomplished in an appropriate manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/06/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Manage and build slot requests in VISTA. Build and modify clinic profiles. Generate data related to clinic profiles. Activate, inactivate clinic profiles and Knowledge of CPRS/VISTA related to clinic profile management.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but does require some walking, bending, stooping, standing, stretching and carrying objects such moderately heavy medical records and other paper records. Work also requires spending significant amount of time performing keyboard data entry. Concentration and sustained performance under prolonged stress is required because of the demands placed on scheduling operations with the health care facility, patients and/or their representatives and the need to respond in a calm and efficient manner.
