This position is in the Information Resources Division, Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), PHMSA/DOT. This Office provides oversight and manages the information resource management (IRM) systems and its applications throughout PHMSA and its regional field offices. You will work under the PHMSA Information Systems Security Manager as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist, responsible for development of policies and guidance for the PHMSA Information Assurance and Cybersecurity program.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include:
Experience with IT security systems implementation and maintenance that are applied to applications and assessing the security effectiveness of installed systems based on analysis of reported security problems.
Experience troubleshooting security threats and vulnerabilities incidents and ability to recommend solutions for the problems.
Experience planning, designing, developing, and implementing security processes, policies, and systems to meet the objectives of the agency’s policies, principle, regulation and strategic plan.
To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience managing and/or administering an IT Security Program for an organization.
Experience and training in performing system security assessments, identifying security deficiencies and recommending cost-effective security controls.
Experience managing and/or leading workers performing cybersecurity work (i.e., Incident Management and Remediation, Risk Management, Security Assessments and Authorizations, Training, etc.).
