You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Training Directorate Center of CTR FOR AVIATION TECHNL TRNG. Salary for the GS-11 position is: $57,118 through $74,250. Salary for the GS-09 position is: $69,107 through $89,835.

Duties

You will Communicate Aviation Training and readiness performance objectives and mission responsibilities to all military and civilian personnel. You will develop action plans to correct training deficiencies discovered during assessments. You will coordinate with representatives of other organizations to communicate training requirements, policies, and procedures. You will analyze new training methods and technologies for current training programs to improve processes.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: sector 1) Coordinates planning, development and implementation of training modernization efforts for aviation maintenance training courses; 2) Manages aviation curriculum-related production to include maintaining timelines, quality, and providing guidance on policies and standards across the agency and industry; 3) Analyzes, reviews and adjudicates curriculum utilizing sound instructional design principles and applicable policies, manuals and instructions such as aircraft technical manuals, enlisted classification manuals, military training course handbooks; and 4) Implements project management practices and principles to manage aviation curriculum modernization projects.. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviews training materials and instructions for military aviation maintenance or operations; 2) Analyzes aviation course curriculum for conformity to technical training and modernization standards; 3) Maintains required timelines with a focus on attention to detail; and 4) Evaluates aviation training aids, devices and associated equipment utilized through the training process to ensure course objectives are met. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11: I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled OR I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. GS-09: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
