The Primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist, at Wright-Patterson AFB, for the Air Force Research Lab.
Duties
Directs and oversees Government Special Security Officer (GSSO) activities in support of Special Access Program missions and facilities.
Directs and oversees Information, Personnel, Industrial, Physical, OPSEC, Anti-terrorism, Risk Identification Security Countermeasures (RISC), and S&T Protection.
Plans, organizes, and directs section security operations, ensuring that administrative security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational security objectives.
Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies security guidelines, programs, methods, and procedures.
Leads analysis and provides oversight of security issues and resolves critical problems.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities for assigned personnel.

- This position requires the following certifications IAW with AFI 36-2645: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC).

Required Qualifications
Position is designated Special Sensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
US Citizenship.
This position will require the following certifications IAW with AFI 36-2645: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC).
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
Travel and/or performance of additional duties may be required.
Must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade: DR/DO-01, GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Desired Qualifications
Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) completed.
Must be a self-starter and have good verbal/communicative skills and able to work with and alongside a diverse group of skilled professionals.
Experience in supervision and leading teams.
