Duties
You will have a working knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration principles and fundamentals, of refrigeration cycles and practices and knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
You will diagnoses and locates malfunctions; disassembles, repairs, replaces and/or adjusts the more complex problems. Evacuates and recharges systems with refrigeration gas and refrigeration oil.
You will performs troubleshooting to isolate damaged or defective components, such as diodes, circuit cards, rectifiers, relays, RF filters and capacitors and effects repairs to damaged components.
You will instruct lower graded employees in their performance of such duties as installation, repair and maintenance of systems and in techniques involved in brazing and soldering.
You will read and work from diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals of refrigeration and electrical design
You will work under general supervision of the shop supervisor.
Requirements

- This position requires you to obtain a certificate of training in recovery or recycling of refrigerant.
- You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds and with assistance up to 100 pounds.
- This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required to include being recalled back to duty.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
