About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Operations Specialist (Chief of Operations Branch) for the Plans and Operations Division, Directorate, Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS). Responsible for supporting and executing all operations, plans, contingencies and exercises at United States Army Garrison, Fort Bliss, TX.
Duties
Advises the garrison commander, senior leadership and staff on all operational matters and sensitive issues raised in incoming actions related to completion of installation orders, plans and tasking of other units.
Reviews all operational orders and plans for accuracy, resourcing, timeliness and applicability, determines modifications and develops fragmentary orders to direct changes if needed to support tasking in support of installation missions
Coordinates with other installation activities for personnel, equipment, services and logistical support for events, ceremonies, contingencies and exercises.
Manages the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Coordinates all EOC activities daily, during contingencies and exercises.
Sets and adjusts short-term priorities, prepares schedules for completion of work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
- This position requires overtime and on-call duty on short notice to include nights, holidays and weekends.
- This is an inclement weather essential position: incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions
