This position is located at Departmental Offices (DO), Cybersecurity. As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will be the technical authority providing leadership and expert advice on developing and implementing policies, programs, and procedures to ensure the security and reliability of
the DO, unified communications and cloud infrastructure.
Duties
As a/an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Devise and conduct risk assessment programs to identify areas of potential vulnerability in operating systems used throughout the organization.
Provide technical advice and leadership on security aspects of network and systemsdesign to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security applications and policies.
Develop acquisition specifications related to IT security considerations.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of new technology and other developments in thefield of information technology.
Interpret and evaluate proposed legislation and broad-based policies concerning IT.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:
Developing, defining, managing and documenting IT security projects; AND
Applying Federal information systems security protocols to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines; AND
Performing or managing Federal information systems security assessment and authorization.
In addition to the specialized experience stated above, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
