This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO), Human Capital Business Solutions (HCBS), Data Delivery Services (DDS) Branch.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support, guidance, and technical leadership support to the Human Capital (HC) Data Management Director in the development of DHS-wide HC data architecture and information sharing practices.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (DATAMGT), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the organization.
Planning work to be accomplished by employees.
Providing expert technical support to the Human Capital (HC) Data Management Director and DHS components to establish and maintain effective data architectures and information sharing.

Qualifications
Basic Requirement:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1) Attention to Detail - Is though when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2) Customer service - Works with clients and customers (this is, any individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; and is committed to providing quality products and services.
3) Oral Communication- Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral presentations.
4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
developing and refining information sharing and data architectures.
overseeing an agency or equivalent level IT program or function.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
