This position is an Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-6/7 working for the R4-Theodore Roosevelt NWR Complex. This position will be filled in EITHER of the following locations: Yazoo City, MS Onward, MS (This will be the physical duty location, approximately 30 miles north of Vicksburg, MS) This position is also open to status candidates under announcement R4-23-12031621-GH-MP. Duties

As a Administrative Support Assistant your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Provides administrative support functions to assigned duty station. Maintains physical and automated records, reports, guidelines, and various office correspondence. Performs clerical tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, graphics (charts), and various communications software. Coordinates foreign and domestic travel for staff within the business team. Assists the traveler with resolving any problems due to missing documents and corrects any errors. Monitors travel financial obligations for assigned Team personnel. Responsible for accomplishing tasks associated with coordinating the assigned business team's payroll and effectively serving as technical staff resource to assigned refuges within the business team on payroll and travel matters. Serves as Alternate Timekeeper and/or Validator for other Payroll/Travel personnel, as assigned. Tracks timecard completion for the entire business team and follows up on missing timesheets. Reconciles edits, correcting data error for each pay period.

  • Uniform: Official U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service uniform will be required.
  • Probationary Period: Selectees may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications

Only experience and education obtained by 08/25/2023 will be considered. Minimum Qualification [GS-06] One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience may include: performing administrative functions, e.g., payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence; purchasing supplies, equipment and/or services; assists with general office support services. Minimum Qualification [GS-07] One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience may include: performing administrative functions, e.g., payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence; purchasing supplies, equipment and/or services; assists in procurement and contracting procedures; assists in budget preparation; preparing and reviewing travel vouchers; serving as a timekeeper using an automated system; coordinating staff training; maintaining records filing system; communicating effectively with others. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically, i.
