About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. The nearby lakes, Belton and Stillhouse, offer year round outdoor recreation activities.

Duties

Serve as the Supervisory Operations Officer, Installation Operations Center, Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS), Fort Hood Garrison. Serve as the activity's primary point of contact for operational matters, manages the work flow and work assignments of lower graded specialists and assumes the duties of the Branch Chief in his absence. Coordinate all Installation Operations Center (IOC) activities daily, during mobilization, contingencies and exercises. Prepare the format for all installation plans and orders. Prepare and conduct briefings for the Commander, visiting VIPs, conferences and other relating to area of expertise. Support base lined units and installation units submitting Unit Status Reports (USR) by providing preparation assistance and transmitting the final report.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• Incumbent is required to work weekends in support of USAR training, briefings to Vip?s, and when the Home Station Operations Center (HSOC) is activated.
