You will serve as the Secretary (Office Automation) employee for the Pharmacy Clinical Service (PCS) service line with the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle division.
Duties
You will provide telephone and receptionist services.
You will refer visitors and provides information about Pharmacy Clinical Service (PCS).
You will answer questions and inquiries concerning administrative and procedural requirements.
You will track the license and certification status of Licensed Pharmacists, Registered Dietitians, and Certified Pharmacy Technicians.
You will run database queries to provide management with employee-related reports.
You will coordinate new employee onboarding and departing employee clearing with the affected employees, their supervisors, and Human Resources.
You will perform office automations duties using software applications for electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, word processing, mail merge functions, spreadsheet, database, and graphics such as Visio and other process flowcharting software.
You will schedule appointments, interviews, coordinate meetings, and plans and schedule conferences.
You will perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 09/01/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Proficiency Requirements: Clerk-Typist, Office Automation Clerk/Assistant, Clerk-Stenographer, Data Transcriber, and Positions with Parenthetical Titles of (Typing), (Office Automation), (Stenography), or (Data Transcription) In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level or pay band in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Assisting with administrative coordination and support for: timekeeping, calendar/scheduling coordination, travel coordination, office supply management, document management, interview coordination, office equipment management, correspondence, action items, and customer service duties in a business office setting. OR,
EDUCATION (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed GRADUATE level education that is directly related to the duties of the position. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application. Education cannot be credited without documentation.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required such as some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
Work Conditions: The work is performed in an office setting with adequate lighting and other facilities with no unusual health hazards. The incumbent observes normal safety precautions.
