One permanent Medical Support Assistant (OA) position in the Nursing Ambulatory Surgery Department at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Arizona. The Incumbent will be responsible for making patient appointments; reviewing patient records; performing recordkeeping duties, and serving as the department timekeeper. The incumbent will be supervised by the Supervisory Clinical Nurse, Nursing-Ambulatory Surgery Department.
Duties
Performs a variety of receptionist duties such as receiving patients, visitors, and telephone calls.
Performs a variety of record keeping duties.
Makes referrals and notification of patient appointments.
Reviews patient records for compliance.
Serves as timekeeper for the department.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of general experience equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: performing clerical work and timekeeping duties.
Successful completion of 2 years of education above the high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Combination of specialized experience and education post high school with courses related to the occupation that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: maintaining clinical records and files; using a computer to enter and obtain data; scheduling patient appointments, and performing timekeeping duties.
Competed a 4 year course of study above high school.
Combination of specialized experience and education post high school with courses related to the occupation that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
