One (1) Permanent Full-Time Medical Support Assistant (OA) position to be filled in the Out Patient Nursing Department, (OPD) at the Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) in Whiteriver, Arizona. The Incumbent will be responsible for timekeeping duties of the Out Patient department staff and provide medical clerical support required in the care and treatment provide to the patient. The Incumbent will be supervised by the OPD Nurse Supervisor, WRSU.
Duties
Utilizes computer automating systems, including, but not limited to functions as a timekeeper (or alternate timekeeper) for the unit.
Processes computer generated time cards utilizing the ITAS software for the unit employees, which includes full-time, part-time, and temporary employees.
Performs functions of setting up and maintaining inpatient charts, making appointments
Performs telephone functions with customer service
Utilizes computer automation systems and familiar with different software..
Participates in the ordering and restocking of supplies.
Makes advance and same-day appointments for general clinic and some specialty clinics, utilizing correct appointment program functions.
Promotes safety and risk management initiatives on the unit to help ensure patient, visitor, and staff security.
Knowledge of BMW (scheduling system), assists with creating clinic schedules
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least two years of general experience at or equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-04 in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: interviewing, assisting, identifying, maintaining records and files; using the computer to enter and obtain data.
OR
EDUCATION:GS-05: Two years above High School.
Proficiency Requirements :In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate. Applicants may meet the requirements by passing the appropriate performance test and presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
