About the Position: Serves as the Secretary for the Task Force Virgin Islands Puerto Rico (TF VIPR) Deputy for Programs and Project Management (DPM). As secretary is responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and office automation support that consists of using a variety of processes and methods. This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida or San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Duties
Coordinates and ensures procedures meet office needs and are consistently understood and followed by all the staff. Establishes, reviews, and updates complex administrative office procedures and guidelines.
Evaluates procedures and determines when changes need to be made; independently affects the changes.
Maintains office calendars and appointment/meeting schedules, arranging meetings, conferences, and training events.
Receives and screens calls and visitors to the office, receiving and reviewing all incoming correspondence and preparing replies to general inquiries and routine actions.
Prepares a variety of materials using computer keyboard wherein the work requires competitive level proficiency in typing as well as knowledge of office hardware and software systems.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative, clerical, and office automation support that consists of using a variety of processes and methods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
