The primary purpose of this position is to directly support and assist the Department of the Air Force (DAF) through the development and implementation of all correspondence management policies and procedures for all DAF senior leaders, Headquarters DAF Staff, Secretariat, Headquarters United States Air Force Staff and Headquarters the United States Space Force Staff.
Duties
Performs the activities of the Information Workflow Management Branch (SAF/DSE) across the Department of the Air Force.
Leads and monitors workflow compliance as the Executive Secretariat for DAF and United States Space Force (USSF).
Represents SAF/DSE with the entire DAF Headquarters population, major commands/field commands Directors of Staff, Field Operating Agencies, Direct Reporting Units, and with Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff executive staffs.
Performs other assigned tasks and special projects.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of specialized areas within the DAF, Department of Defense command and organizational structure, and related organizational management, strategy, and communications. Knowledge and skills sufficient to generate and apply new hypotheses and concepts in planning, conducting and evaluating long-range projects or proposals for the Secretary of the Air Force. Comprehensive knowledge of the operations, rules, procedures, and organization of both the DAF and the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the demonstrated ability to work directly with senior members of all military branches in examining and developing policy options. Knowledge of program management strategies and concepts related to Department of Air Force military structure and missions
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods and experience with applications for the assessment of large data and improvement of complex management processes and systems.
2. Knowledge of Information Workflow Management functions, policies, procedures, and theories related to the mission, management, and business practices of DAF and OSD organizational structures to provide high-level staff guidance.
3. Skill in communicating effectively with tact and diplomacy, orally and in writing, to advocate positions to respond to critics of the organization's functions or performance; to logically and effectively explain programs, functions, and activities and gain understanding of the organization's efforts by concerned parties; and to negotiate complex issues, programs and functions with people have varying levels of understanding.
4. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
5. Skills and ability to independently manage short and long-term projects and to cultivate and sustain positive working relationships to project completion.
6. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
