About the Position: Serves as a Director or senior manager leading and managing assigned area through a group of professional, technical, and support personnel engaged in directing, developing and/or implementing logistics policies, processes, initiatives and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon or information systems acquisition in the areas of Logistics Support.
This is a pay banded position. The NH-04 band encompasses grades 14 and 15 under the General Schedule (GS) system.
Duties
Assigned systems are characterized by new and emerging technologies; high monetary value; used within a context of new or innovative military strategies.
Ensures compliance with policies and recommends policy changes to fit requirements of new systems.
Provides high level managers and military planners background information, planning rationales, and alternatives.
Represents the organization on high level boards, committees, and study groups regarding logistics management issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for (Advanced) Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position requires a one-year probationary period for Supervisory position unless previously completed.
- This position requires pre-employment Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) and requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2889 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.

Specialized Experience: One year experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service that includes: 1) Applying advanced concepts, principles, practices, and regulations pertaining to the field of logistics management related to weapon system project/programs; 2) Logistics Contract Experience to support requirements, Budget planning/execution; and 3) Providing leadership or managing logistics supply and maintenance, weapon system programming and allocation while overseeing materiel acquisition policy to integrate the separate logistics functions.
