This position is part of the Southeastern Power Administration. As a Administrative Clerk, you will be performing a variety of administrative and clerical support functions in support of the Assistant Administrator Legal Affairs and Administration (LAA) office and to enhance the operation of the organization. **This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the Elberton, GA duty location.**

Duties

Receives, sorts, and distributes daily mail/deliveries. Accomplishes clerical, statistical, and data entry tasks in support of administrative functions. Answers, screens and forwards incoming calls to SEPA's main phone line as necessary. Greets and welcomes visitors upon arrival at the office. Checks and inspects timekeeping records for errors and corrects. Ensures labor and attendance data is certified within established timelines. Coordinates with other administrative staff to make travel arrangements for LAA staff including completing Vehicle Request forms, processing Travel Authorizations in the Concur system, preparing Meeting Notices and Statement of Travel in Microsoft Word.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: To qualify at the GS-05, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in at least three (3) of the following: Administrative and clerical support activities such as answering phones and distributing mail. Operating computer software packages such as Microsoft Suite. Prioritizing workload to meet deadlines. Reviewing and editing documents for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and spellings. Operating office automation equipment, including personal computers, printers, copiers, fax, calculators. Etc.. OR Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university. OR Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
