This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO); Business Operations (BUSOPS) Branch.
The primary purpose of this position is to (1) serve as a first-level supervisor, providing planning, direction, and organization, of priorities and tasks for nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Branch; and (2) serve as a senior Budget Analyst who provides planning, organization, and substantive budget controls for OCHCO.
Duties
As a Supervisory Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Planning and scheduling work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution.
Establishing policies and procedures for accomplishment of work performed.
Developing goals and objectives that integrate Branch objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the federal government OR equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following:
Lead and advise others on planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of an agency's budget.
Coordinate the presentation and justification of budget estimates.
Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Participate in special projects and initiatives and perform special assignments.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
