Duties

This position is located within the Cheltenham Administrative Division (CAD) under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) in Cheltenham, Maryland. As an Equipment, Facilities and Services Assistant you will be a valuable member of the FLETC team and mission. You will be responsible for providing substantial administrative support to CAD managers to ensure accomplishment of the FLETC mission. 

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • You will need to set up direct deposit so we can pay you.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
  • You will be required to complete an OGE 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, within 30 days of starting your federal employment and annually thereafter as long as you occupy a position that requires financial disclosure reporting.
  • This position is eligible for situational-only telework based on agency policy.

  • You may be required to work weekends and federal holidays.
  • Overtime work may be required.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify at the GS-06 level, you must possess one of the following: 1. At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service providing administrative support, processing transactions, completing assignments, frequently improvising procedures for unusual situations. OR 2.  Successful completion of six months of graduate-level education (9 semester hours) from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Please provide a copy of your transcripts. OR 3.  An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education as described above from an accredited college or university. Please provide a copy of your transcripts. To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must possess one of the following:  1. At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service performing preliminary analysis of information gathered on specific projects, compiling, consolidating, summarizing, organizing and presenting findings from research. Preparing routine reports, responding to general and specific technical inquiries, providing information and explaining procedures. OR 2. Successful completion of one year of graduate-level education (18 semester hours) from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Please provide a copy of your transcripts. OR 3. An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education as described above from an accredited college or university. Only graduate education in excess of the first 9 semester hours will be combined with the specialized experience. Please provide a copy of your transcripts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. If this position is filled at the GS-06 grade level, you may be non-competitively promoted without further competition when the supervisor determines that the duties of the higher grade level are being performed and all regulatory requirements have been met.
