Duties
Perform internal Quality Assurance auditing functions.
Perform technical lead functions and oversight in support of higher quality standards, such as, ISO 45001, AS9100 or equivalent standards both current and previous releases and variations.
Interpret and apply quality assurance oversight through program directives and compliance to government regulations.
Monitor quality management system operations and methods.
Lead product/process audits at government and commercial facilities
Perform staff and support operations related to Quality Assurance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
This is a Temporary position. May be filled at the GS-9, GS-11 or GS-12 grade levels. If selected at a lower grade, non-competitive promotion to the full performance GS-12 grade level is authorized.

Experience required for GS-09: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Technical support of quality standard(s) to ensure compliance; review technical data packages for adequacy; analyze data to detect unsatisfactory trends/weaknesses in various materials/items. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-09: Specialized experience may be substituted with a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. if related, from an accredited university or college. AND the graduate Major field of study is in any of the following: quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-09: To combine the experience and education you need to compute the percentage of each. First divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 18 hours (total semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (Note: You must upload a copy of your transcripts with your application package.)
Experience required for GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Technical support of quality standard(s) to ensure compliance; review technical data packages for adequacy to determine quality methods of inspection; analyze data to detect unsatisfactory trends/weaknesses in various materials/items; monitor actions with other organizations to ensure corrective action is taken; test/analyze quality requirements to verify contractor compliance; prepare/present reports to commands/contractor personnel to provide support to the organization. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level
position in the federal service (GS-09).
Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: Specialized experience may be substituted with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related, from an accredited university or college. AND the graduate Major field of study is in any of the following -- quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.(Note: You must upload a copy of your transcripts with your application package.)

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Oversight and technical support of advanced quality standard(s) to ensure compliance and sustainment; review technical data packages for adequacy to determine quality methods of inspection; analyze data to detect unsatisfactory trends/weaknesses in various materials/items; monitor actions with other organizations to ensure corrective action is taken; test/analyze quality requirements to verify contractor compliance; prepare/present reports to
commands/contractor personnel to provide support to the organization. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

In order to qualify for this position, based on your education, education substitution, or combination of education and experience, you must have either completed the education requirement, or will complete this requirement within 30 calendar days from the closing date of this announcement. be rated as Ineligible for this position.
