This position is located in Glacier National Park, in the Division of Facility Management. This is a detail opportunity not to exceed 120 days but may be extended at management discretion. This position WILL NOT be made permanent. While on detail, the employee continues to hold his/her official position from which detailed and keeps the same status and grade.

Duties

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and completion of custodial, maintenance, repair, minor construction, landscaping, and painting. Coordinates work activities with other supervisors, federal, and state agencies, and non-federal special interest groups. Set performance standards, documents and evaluates employees' performance at the start of, midseason, and end of appraisal period. Responsible to ensure employees are aware of safety hazards, standards, PPE, and fully supports the NPS/GNP Safety Program. Responsible for ensuring equal opportunity for all employees supervised. While applicants are not required to meet the minimum qualifications for a detail, the qualifications for this positions are as follows: Ability to Lead or Supervise (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Ability to plan and organize work Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
