You will serve as a COMPUTER SCIENTIST in the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (NAVMETOCCOM) Information Architecture department of NAV METEOROLOGY AND OCEANOGRAPHIC CMD.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will perform as an expert software technical lead to integrate, manage and sustain the software capabilities
You will solicit, analyze and validate requirements.
You will perform software design and lead teams performing application development.
You will communicate and liaise with a wide diversity of scientists, agency managers/staff, private contractors, and Fleet personnel.
You will create software system designs for complex software solutions and establishes critical non-functional requirements

Qualifications
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
EXPERIENCE:
In addition to the Basic Education requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience conducting IT program planning, scheduling, budgeting and execution of new and recurring requirements;
Experience performing, overseeing, and monitoring acceptance testing of software and software systems;
Experience managing short- and long-term project roadmap or POA&M and prioritize for critical path project tasking; and
Experience planning and conducting studies.
