About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), Patient Administration Division, Patient Accountability Branch Admission and Disposition Office at Fort Sam Houston, TX. The Supervisory Health Technician will work under the general supervision of the Chief, Patient Affairs Branch. The incumbent will work in an Office environment, Monday - Friday schedule with occassional phone calls after hours requesting assistance and guidance from staff.

Duties

Directly supervises multiple shift leaders and Ancillary services. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters, interviews candidates for positions in the unit, and recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. Contacts with patients and/or family members are to obtain information required to determine eligibility, explain hospital policies and procedures regarding services available and patient's responsibility, search patients and baggage, etc. Providing management and technical support for a full range of tasks associated with the admission, discharge, accountability reporting of patients, aero medical evacuation, patient valuables, processing birth certificates and decedent affairs. Resolving problems according to established criteria such as data that involves inconsistencies, discrepancies, and other non-routine problems.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
