About the Position: The Office Automation GS-0326-07 position is located in the Dir of Clinical Support, Nutrition Care Division at Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), Fort Carson, CO.

Duties

Maintains a variety of files, records, correspondence, publications, circulates, directives and regulations. Uses the full range of functions including advanced processes of one or more software applications to produce documents. Perform clerical duties such as receiving visitors and telephone calls, sorting and routing incoming mails, etc. Distributes documents to staff as necessary. Maintain electronica files of information for later retrieval as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Successful completion of background investigation (T1/NACI).
  • This position requires a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccine and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This is an Inclement Weather Essential position; you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated/documented experience in 1) using advanced office automation software/programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) to develop documents, reports and/or publications and other documents with complex formats; 2) proofreading materials and make changes if necessary to ensure correct grammar, format and/or punctuations; AND 3) performing receptionist duties such as receiving visitors and/or phone calls and identify the nature of visit/inquiry. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer LiteracyCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-5). There is no position in the normal line of progression in the organization that is one grade lower than the position being filled. For outside applicants (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service), 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-06) is required.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
